Its unsurpassed fame is probably due to the long history of measurement consistency and its overall reliability. Many devices after more than two decades are still operating spotlessly, showing direct readouts of resistance and reactance from a 50 kHz alternating sine current, injected constantly at 800 micro ampere RMS intensity, and with the plus that the shown figures are quality controlled by an unique microprocessor based feedback system. The physiological data analysis yield reliable three compartment model body composition estimates and fluid and nutrition diagnosis.
